Presently, our classroom easel is literally on its last leg! It is unsafe for my students to use independently. I use it daily for whole and small group instruction and would like my students to use it during center time. A large, mobile, easel will help my students problem solve together, as they demonstrate strategies on the dry erase magnetic board. My students enjoy and readily participate when it is time to use manipulatives and dry erase markers. First graders need a variety of concrete, "hands-on " activities in order to develop abstract skills. They learn best by "doing". Guided and independent literacy activities will be enhanced as students "share the pen" during writing instruction and as we read books together during shared reading times. Children love being actively engaged in the learning process. My students eagerly raise their hands for a turn at the easel to read, write or work with numbers. It is a pleasure to observe their enthusiasm, effort and growth! Please help us "ease" into learning with a new multi functional easel. Thank you in advance for supporting our learning adventures!
