Colored paper is a valuable supply in the classroom and short supply due to the expense. This paper is better for writing on than construction paper and can be used for printing. Students are required to publish work in 4th grade and this will allow students to have a more finished product. It can and will also be used to create foldables which students can use to organize information and aid in their studying. It is great for students to have colors to differentiate their materials and stay organized. This is difficult for 3rd and 4th graders. The materials will also be used for art projects which in turn often incorporate other subject areas of our curriculum. The bright colors of the paper attract attention and students like working with them which makes the whole experience more engaging and fun. Students may also express themselves through their work by having various colors from which to choose. The materials will be shared with the teachers in my hall of the building, because we all lost much our wood and paper products during the terrible flooding that affected south Louisiana in August of 2016.
