My classroom is a diverse community of 4th graders who come together for the purpose of learning and growing as individuals. The classroom contains a variety of ethnic groups, socioeconomic statuses, and family backgrounds. We are a Title 1 school where many students live in poverty. These are bright children who I believe can become leaders in the next generation of society. Students walk through the door bringing their big personalities, gentle voices, loud laughter, donated coats, broken families, and unique experiences, but when they walk in my class they always remember that "we are family." They take care of each other, stand up for each other, and learn how to manage conflict with each other, just like any other family.
