I have not taught second graders for very long. I need leveled books that correspond to their reading needs. I would like the books to reflect the richness of modern writing that is generally available. The books I've chosen reflect various reading levels. These choices will be used in their small groups and introduce them to some new authors. Hopefully, they will become aware of the authors and find them independently at the library too. I believe the books I've chosen have been published somewhat recently and reflect their generation. My book library is tired. The students like to look through my offerings, but I would like to see them have more current, satisfying, and relevant choices that we can share.
