These materials will allow more students to be able to work through coding projects in my classroom. We currently have three Spheros in our entire school that I am able to check out. With class sizes close to 30, this makes for very large group sizes -- with up to 10 students per group. Adding more Spheros to our classroom would allow for students to have more hands-on experiences with coding and programming in smaller groups. The addition of the Spheros and Raspberry Pis to our classroom will give the students a "real World" coding experience. With over 1 million job openings in the computer programming job field, I think it's so important to expose all students to learn computer coding in school. The Raspberry Pis will be used both in class and in our Makerspace that I am piloting at our school. Students that show interest in computer programming and coding will be able to work on the Raspberry Pis in addition to their normal coursework to differentiate their learning experience.
