My students come from diverse backgrounds, various reading levels and a variety of needs that need to be met in the classroom. Most of my students are reading 2 to 3 levels below their current grade level. I am asking for copies forty-eight different books including Where the Sidewalk Ends Poems and Drawings, Watership Down: A Novel and Twilight. I am also requesting five boxed sets of books including a Harry Potter Series Boxed Set and a boxed set of the Divergent Series. I would like to offer my students a variety of high-interests novels to help assist with their literature needs. By offering both fiction and non-fiction to my students, I can help to broaden their understanding of the world around them. Also, my students lack life experiences. These novels will help my students expand their imaginations and develop a rich verbal ability to communicate with their peers.
