Anyone who says that not all kids can learn to read is wrong. I can say that, because I teach the kids who have fallen through the cracks in the achievement gap. I am a fifth grade reading teacher at a public, urban elementary school. I specialize in readers who are struggling and work to learn more about teaching reading every day. Despite the fact that many of my kids are labeled "struggling readers", their voracious passion for books is inspiring and they are making gains daily.
