With diverse library materials collections and programs, the library will be able to introduces children to many stories about their heritage, starting at a very young age. This project will help diversify the library resources that we have in our PK-2 building. I will purchase books that will be targeted towards African-American and Hispanic students. These two ethnic backgrounds make up the demographic majority that our school serves. Our library has needed to be more diverse for several years and I'm happy to start putting this project into motion. I want to have literature resources that reflect and honor the lives of all of our students and have the resources they are able to connect with.
