My students are in the last program for French language in our school district. As years have passed, the Cajun French language of many of our ancestors has slipped away. In order to study the French language and discover the culture of these ancestors, students require tools to listen and read in French. Updated reading materials that reflect French language and culture are essential for engagement in our language program. These magazine subscriptions offer articles targeted for young people to gain an understanding of topics in leveled formats for both French I and French II students. These resources would supplement the textbooks in our classroom, which are 11 years old and do not offer readings on current events.
