Reading books daily is crucial to helping a student develop reading and comprehension skills. Having the new books would help my students to complete everyday classroom tasks , such as independent reading, guided reading, and partnership reading. It would also allow the students top take books home daily and practice reading. In our classroom we also have various electronic devices that require the use of headphones. The headphones can also be used during reading workshop, word study, and during listening activities. Both items would make a huge difference in the learning experiences of my classroom students. It will especially help to ESL population of my classroom.
