My students will be using these requested two Samsung Galaxy tablets with Belkin protective cases in several ways during small group intervention. One way students will use the Galaxy tablets is to access targeted skills instruction using Lexia Core 5. With this program, my struggling students can receive explicit instruction within the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Students will also be using the Galaxy tablets to practice their fluency, by recording themselves read and listen back to how it sounds. Students will also be using the Galaxy tablets to take assessments. This will also them to become familiar with computer based testing. This is extremely crucial now that students are being asked to take high stakes tests on the computer. Not only do my students need extra support with their literacy skills, they also need support learning the technological skills needed to be successful on next generation testing.
