I teach chess at a high poverty college-prep high school. Because many of my students arrive without the necessary skills to succeed, they lack motivation. I toil everyday to improve their skills using chess as an instructional tool. Despite their lack of initial skills, I am determined to prepare my students for college. However, my students need additional resources that will improve their literacy.
