I teach special education in a language arts and social studies inclusion classroom. My students are in a special program at an alternative school which is designed for 15 and 16 year-olds who are still in the 7th grade. The hope for this program is that these students will not drop out of school before getting their high school diploma. This school is in a high-needs area just outside of New Orleans. All of my students would benefit from a more visually engaging environment.
