We are a title I school with limited music supplies. 86% of our students receive free or reduced lunch, and are unable to purchase even a dollar store recorder for class. We will be starting a violin ensemble with the 8 violins requested. In my experience, the children that struggle in core subjects such as reading and math, excel and enjoy the fine arts. I'm trying to cultivate the love of the arts in my students that already show a passion for music, and the ones who are struggling to find their passion. I want to start a music program at my elementary school that inspires students to continue music in middle and high school!
