In the English Language Arts classroom we have a great library. It's full of classics and current fiction and nonfiction novels that are always being updated. The project will provide access to magazines that we do not currently have and will provide the latest best sellers to our collection. The scholastic magazines will offer practice with vocabulary, building background on current issues and trends, and offer modeled texts of writing through short story narratives, poetry, and nonfiction examples. The project will offer modern literature choices in a variety of subgenres of fiction. Our library is living. It should reflect them; their cultures, interests, and goals, as well as be relevant to common experiences of adolescents. This project will enhance our classroom by offering choices and example texts to suit our diversity.
