The students in our music department practice for 10-12 weeks for each performance. Currently, they are using very old music stands that are falling apart, very tipsy, or do not stay at the proper height for good playing position and conductor visibility. Proper posture is everything when you're playing and singing! Not only are we lacking functioning stands, but we have no way to move them from our rehearsal spaces to our performance spaces. We either have to ask students to move their own stands, or spend personal time moving all the equipment alone. Having a stand cart would expedite this process, allowing the music teachers to spend more time creating exciting lessons for their students. The final concert of our school year is called the "Prism" concert. So named because all the lights are turned off in the auditorium and stand lights are used by the performers. Groups are placed all around the auditorium and only turn on lights when it is their turn to play, creating the effect of light bouncing around the room. Please help us purchase more lights so each child can have their own!
