Osmo is a new form of technology that allows students hands-on experiences with letters, numbers, and shapes. Students learn by manipulating tiles to make words, creating addition/subtraction sentences, or by putting code together to get a creature from one place to another. By using these devices during workshop, students glean through hands-on experiences. I plan to use the letter tiles to create sight words list for each student's specific needs and to practice spelling lists. Technology is the way of the future, and our students need every experience possible with all its varying forms. Our students thrive and learn by using tools such as the Osmo Genius Kit and Coding Kit to bring life and depth to everyday core curriculum tasks such as spelling, math facts, and pattern identification. Many jobs now are centered around technology, coding, or the problem solving skills learned through coding.
