My room could be categorized as a sensory room for students who receive emotional/autistic support. They are able to come to my room for breaks. The movement that the ball chairs provide help to meet their sensory needs. These chairs allow for their bodies to be moving to help increase their attention to instruction. They also provide necessary sensory needs. Sometimes the students get overwhelmed by their schoolwork or social interactions and bouncing helps to calm them. They help to maintain an environment that allows for all to learn. The bean bag chair is a safe place for students who need to take a break to relax before returning to their classrooms. My students are awesome young people. They are creative, hard-working, and energetic students who work very hard to achieve their goals. They try so hard to be successful in school and they really want to do well. Imagine trying to sit still all day when it is near impossible - these flexible seating options will help with their ability to attend to instruction and focus on their work.
