My class of 8 students with Autism and other developmental delays will use these resources daily in our reading nook, our classroom instruction and independent work to allow for my students to thrive and grow in their education, to meet IEP goals and objectives, to become thriving Kindergartners and set themselves up for a great educational future. The carpet and pillow will provide a nurturing "safe space" to utilize calming strategies (deep breathing, eyes closed, circle breathing, etc.), and make our reading nook a bit more comfortable. These instructional materials will help establish a fun and nurturing idea to education. Many children on the spectrum have cognitive delays, especially in language. The curriculum supplemental materials, I have chosen will help my students match letters and numbers, learn letter sounds and relationships, recognize and identify numbers and weather patterns, etc. The more supports we can give children at an early age, especially those with special needs, the more they are able to retain for the future. Help my kids to succeed with the necessary tools to do so. With your support it will be possible to achieve our best work, set higher goals and standards for our students.
