The resources I have requested would be used to efficiently and effectively meet my students varying needs. I have requested a broad array of reading, phonics, word building, and mathematic resource books in an effort to improve my students English language proficiency and foundational academic skills. My students are learning two languages, Yugtun, a Native Alaskan language, as well as English. In an effort to meet there current needs and in anticipation of future needs, these books will be frequently used assets. These materials will provide the much necessary practice in the foundational skills in language acquisition as well as mathematics. When I first started in this position one year ago, I was not aware what resources I would have to work with. Furthermore the rural location of the school creates additional costs in ordering materials and being able to provide what is necessary in a timely manner.
