My students need help motivating them to write. They do not see the value of their words. If I could have them write it on the easel and see the Writing Process and how things change. This might give them the confidence to write because the fear of not knowing how to spell the word or what letter makes that sound has made them very reluctant. Writing either for pleasure or academic assignments is a lifelong endeavor. My students need to see that their words (misspelled with malformed letters) have value and desired to be shared. It will serve as starting point for them to start venturing into writing on a more public stage and to share their writings with their peers. If they can see the worth of their words, they will see the potential they possess and run with it!
