Hello! I'm Angie Gooding, and I've taught in many districts in Washington State including Seattle, Everett, Marysville, and Arlington only to return to my hometown of Port Angeles to teach 8th grade language arts, and to serve my community. Port Angeles is a wonderful place, but the economics of the last few decades have been hard, and have affected our schools, too. I teach language arts and history to 8th graders, and we have a 60% free and reduced lunch rate. Students are eager to learn and are also eager to engage in the world around them....And what better way to do that than through literacy? Currently, I have and maintain a healthy library full of books to read, but would love to provide students with book sets so they can be a part of literacy circles. My intent is to purchase quality sets of books (20 titles, 5 books each) so that students can read, discuss and learn together.
