This rug will allow my students a place where we can meet as a group for read aloud, morning meeting, and second step. My students thrive on these times when we can share together and learn from one another. My students are more engaged when they can work comfortably according to their own needs. By providing students with this choice in my classroom, students own their learning more fully. This rug will allow students a place to gather with a station or work independently. Currently, students find a small rug in my classroom to curl up with a book. A large rug will allow multiple students or groups a place to dig into a book or complete a station.
