My students need exposure to a variety texts as well as reading activities for small group instruction. These books and reading materials will help build students' foundational skills and give them opportunities to partner read, choral read and participate in small group instruction. Currently, we have miscellaneous books from other classroom libraries. We rarely have 2 of the same book let alone a set of books on my students' reading level. This library will help my students love reading and learning as a whole! In addition, these resources will provide a opportunity for students to take home reading materials so they can read with their parents, helping to bridge the gap between home and school. Students can use taught strategies from class to practice at home, and share what they are learning with their parents. These materials will help support my literacy instruction so that our time together can be as beneficial as possible!
