My students are teenagers (ages 16-21) in New York and they attend an alternative public high school that focuses on community building and experiential/ project based learning. They have selected to attend our school because their learning experiences in other schools did not fit their emotional, learning, or physical needs. Many of our students come here because their other schools' environments were either unable or unwilling to help them cultivate their unique talents. Our students come from all five of New York City's boroughs. Our students feel comfortable and safe at our school, because we encourage unity, community-building, and openness among the students and the staff.

About my class
