While I was setting up my classroom I knew that the students would need extra storage space due to the size of our room. I quickly located some seat sacks that were already packed away in a closet from the previous teacher. I placed the seat sacks on my chairs, but still had to go rummaging to other teachers to scrounge up enough for the number of students on my list. I was eventually able to get enough for each student. My students deserve to have an organized space of their own to keep their belongings. Every child likes to have a place to keep their things and being in a tightly packed classroom does not always allow for enough space for each child. My students will benefit from having their own seat sacks because they will have a private space of their own to keep any school books or belongings they bring from home. The students are quick to complain when their seat sack breaks because things start to fall out onto the floor and it can sometimes cause a safety hazard. I don't want my students to trip over materials due to lack of good quality storage. I want my students to be able to move freely around our room without worrying what they may step on or trip over. As the year has progressed, the seat sacks have started breaking and several students have moved in. I have had to staple some together or throw them away entirely. As they start to break, every move a student makes causes the contents to fall out creating a disruption and time consuming activity. I am hoping for new seat sacks that will be sturdy enough to last a good amount of time that will keep the students from becoming
