This year's Green Team will be fully engaged in making our school and our planet more eco-friendly. We're not just recycling anymore! (But we are definitely still recycling!) We will experiment with ways old products can be given new life and avoid the landfills with ideas such as making pillows from old t-shirts and organic cotton filling. We will also create our own Nature Journals and get outside to take in our natural world in new ways. Plus, we need to update our current recycling containers to make them more noticeable in the classrooms! This will increase the amount of markers, crayons, paper, and plastic that get collected. And as an added bonus, we will use the crayons to make melted crayon art, and any construction paper created to make seed paper - both of which can be sold for extra Green Team funding. That extra funding will then allow us to purchase local plants. It is our goal to grow an air purifying plant in every classroom!
