The math and science materials will really make a huge impact on my student's learning. I can't wait to start using them! I teach the students who struggle in math. The Math Instant Learning Centers and the Math Folder Games will be used immediately during math workshop. These will help reinforce the skills and strategies we have learned during whole group instruction by providing the students with an interactive hands on learning activity to participate in while I teach small group instruction. The Building Fractions Center and the Solve, Flip & Check Fraction Cards will help provide a tangible learning experience for my students while learning fractions, which is difficult concept. I am really excited about The Number Talk Daily Activity and can't wait to use it with my students! My school recently provided professional development on Number Talks and I have been using the strategy but lack resources. It is amazing how quickly the students can learn mental math strategies with this instruction. My students LOVE science! They love investigating, building, researching, and exploring! I am so excited at the possibility of introducing them to the Physical Science Activity Lab and The Can Do! Science Games. These interactive labs and games will help bring science to life in my classroom. I will use the lab along with the NGSS to help my students build their understanding of Physical Science such as force & motion and weather. It is so important to develop deeper comprehension by "doing" these concepts instead of just reading about them. The Can Do! Science Games will become part of my Reading Workshop, as well as, during science where the students can reinforce their learning of difficult but important science concepts.
