I have been working on creating a maker space for my media center. My students have open access to my materials and library, and they love being able to take a brain break and flex their thinking muscles. This Lego building spot in my maker space would be another choice for them beyond magnets, a Makey Makey, circuit builders, and water tornadoes. When they are given choices on what they can do, they feel great pride in themselves and feel empowered in taking on a more difficult task. They have seen great success with accomplishing circuit building projects, as well as creating successful Makey Makey applications.
