Students in inner city communities do not usually get a chance to experience sports such as lacrosse, hockey and archery. Well, my students do experience these sports, in addition to more traditional sports, as we continue to build our curriculum and give students a chance to experience other sports in which they might succeed. Archery is an Olympic sport that might students will learn in an emotion and physical safe manner. Archery builds on eye-hand coordination and builds on self-esteem once basic skills are mastered. With the basic archery pack, my students will receive a one month unit in archery.
