All of our students at our middle school love learning to be healthy and active. They learn to move, play, and interact appropriately with one another. However, our department currently opperates on a very tight budget where we only have enough money to replenish some of our existing equipment that is worn out. This often does not allow us to be able to purchase the equipment needed to provide new, unique and exciting ways to learn. By purchasing new, unique equipment, this will allow us to implement our new character program. This character program will benefit all of our students in endless ways in all classrooms and throughout their lives! In PE, we are implementing a new character program through new and innovative cooperative games and activities. We have specific character traits that will be highlighted throughout different activities that we have planned out. Some of the character traits include: Self awareness, Honesty, Accountability, Discipline, Perseverence, Unselfishness, Dependability, Respectfullness and Integrity. As we teach our lesson, our primary focus is to learn about the spotlighted characteristic that we are fousing on at that time. This equipment will allow for students to not only learn to be physically active but also to learn the importance of these character traits to use for the rest of their lives. By using new and innoventive ways to teach our content, our students will be more eager to learn and we are helping to better prepare them for a successful future.
