My 5th graders are rapid readers! They have already read many of the books in our small classroom library. In order to keep students motivated to read, I want to provide them with a variety book choices. I also want to provide a comfortable space for students to read those books. Students are working on self assessment and accountability during independent reading by using reading logs. We have been working hard this year on reading stamina. The students have done an amazing job so far this year and I know they will continue to do so. A larger classroom library and a comfortable place to read will ensure students continue to become avid readers.
