I believe that in order to be the most successful, students need to be cared for physically, emotionally, and academically. The classroom environment plays a big role in achieving this. The classroom should be welcoming and comforting - like home. In order to create this type of environment, I am requesting lamps to use in our classroom. Unfortunately, my classroom does not offer enough natural light to turn our overhead lights off. By creating a calming environment students learn better and behave better. Think about curling up with a good book next to a soft light! This is what I want the students to experience during the day.
