The use of Chromebooks will allow my students to grow in their research and computer skills. Students are currently researching Ancient Civilizations and will use their research to gather facts and ultimately prove their claim on their Ancient Civilization of their choice. Many of our students do not have computers at home, so the only opportunity to use computers for their research is in school. Due to the limited resources available in our school district and low income households, most students do not have access to the technology that they need or the computer skills that they are expected to have in order to compete with the technical advances of our world. Also, many of our students are English Learners and unfortunately there are limited titles of books for students to use as research in their native language. The use of Chromebooks will allow students to have the support that they need in their native language; making the research more accessible to them.
