My students love our world music drumming unit. The students get to examine other cultures and explore the diverse rhythmic styles of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. I love seeing students who otherwise have no musical background engaging in authentic music making experiences. The problem is we currently are using Ace hardware buckets which allow students to play rhythms, but the tonal aspect of world music drumming is lost. These buckets cannot produce the musical tones needed to create a realistic sound. The Remo Rhythm Lids will allow us to turn the buckets we currently have into real percussion instruments that produce an authentic and beautiful tone. I know the students will love being able to play real, authentic musical instruments as we explore new cultures and ideas through their unique musical and rhythmic styles
