Two of my special ed students need cube chairs in order to help them develop core body strength; however, all students can benefit from this kind of seating. Cube chairs help young students focus and foster self-management skills. I am requesting 6 cube chairs since my students frequently work in small groups of six. By adding 6 cube chairs, instead of just two for the special needs students, our classroom will build a greater sense of community and collaboration. Our cube chairs will be used daily during circle and for small group activities during language arts, math, science, and fine motor work. I am excited for the opportunity to include all students, by giving all students a chance to sit alongside my special needs students in the "best seat in the house." Our cube chairs will help all students develop empathy and compassion as they work alongside classmates with daily life challenges.
