I am a seventh grade math and science teacher at High Tech Middle Media Arts. HTMMA is a charter school in the High Tech High Network that strives to achieve equity among students who come from different racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. One way we work to achieve equity in our student population is by designing authentic, real world projects to do with our students. I strongly believe in this model because I get to see students rise to their true potential when they are passionate and engaged in the learning process. From building roller coasters out of hanger wire to dissections to learn about anatomy and physiology. From a 23 mile urban trek from the US Mexico-border across San Diego to learning to code. I've seen how project based, real life applications can make a student come alive with excitement and curiosity. Thank you for your interest in supporting our classroom and our learning journey!
