This Lynn Kleiner gathering drum accomodates several students at the same time. Currently, my classroom does not have enough percussion instruments to accommodate all students in many of my larger classes. The drum will be used to build beat-keeping competence through modeling and imitation. All students in grades K-4 will benefit from this project. This drum helps our physically disabled students play with little assistance. It will also help our school population by allowing our English speaking and ELL students build community by communicating through the universal language of music. Furthermore, many of our students come with little to no musical experience. This drum will help build the foundation for lifelong musical learning.
