Every year I teach a genetics unit where I talk about protein synthesis. This is one of the most challenging subject that I teach and I have truly seen the difference it can make when kids can learn by doing hands-on activities surrounding this topic. I'm looking for money to buy DNA kits that will help me to engage my students and to allow them to learn about a complex process that can't be seen with the naked eye. I want them to see the bonds that are made between nucleotides, and to gain a deeper understanding for how their body really works. Having these kits would have a deep impact on my students knowledge base and level of understanding! These quality DNA kits are expensive and well beyond the budget that I have at my school for supplies.
