I have always been a firm believer that animals bring out our compassion and our true humanity. I am a third grade Bridges teacher and I am passionate about bringing the natural world into my classroom. In our classroom we have Kaiju, our therapy dog who comes to school everyday, we have a Russian Tortoise, Ruby, we have two mice, Han and Chewy, and we have Bear our prickly and loveable Hedgehog. Taking care of another living creature teaches children patience, responsibility, and most of all the importance of kindness and love. I am trying to raise money for an incubator so that my students and I can learn about the chicken life cycle and grow through caring for and raising chicks.
