What does a teacher do when she discovers two of her IEP students come to life during the two class periods spent each day with a teacher who fosters a more technologically-framed classroom environment? Go on Donor's Choose and beg "Hey Reader/Potential Donor, I turn to you to help bolster the level of engagement in my ICT classroom where some students may have access to a computer or tablet at home and even less have access to the internet allowing them a purpose for using such devices while at home. Having these devices powered by the school's internet service, is not only appealing, but a catalyst for a far superior work product. For example, a two-page handwritten historical fiction narrative transforms into a ten-pager when given "special access" to the teacher's personal device. Math skills practice cut short gets an "Oh man!" from the students practicing on the two working classroom desktops because their fifteen minute time for their IXL.com (online math program) rotation has expired. Your donation will grant access to more students for more time practicing not only typing and math skills, but reading and phonics skills their teacher already pays for access to through a private provider which can better be accessed using the classroom's devices and resources.
