This set of workbooks and decodable readers are an essential component to the Recipe for Reading program. Recipe for Reading is a program specifically designed to teach kids who are struggling with the traditional way of learning to read. I have the teacher's guide and a couple of books from the Alphabet Series, but that is not enough to give my students the full systematic program that was intended by Recipe for Reading. With this set of workbooks and decodable readers, I can give my kids a fair shot at learning to read and catching up with their peers academically. Research shows that certain multi-sensory literacy programs, when done properly, can make all the difference for kids who have dyslexia and other visual, motor, or auditory needs related to reading. My students already have such a strong desire to read independently and I'm so honored and excited to help them get there!
