I need to enhance my literacy centers to get kids working independently in my classroom. During literacy center time, I am working with small groups doing reading work. I would like the rest of my students working independently so I can focus on my small group of students. This means that the rest of the class must be highly engaged in reading activities during this time. I would like to have a classroom listening center so students can read along to favorite books. I would also like to enhance my classroom library with some comfy chairs and new, non-fiction books to get students excited about reading.
