My students are going to use transformations in geometry to learn how to manipulate objects to determine the congruence and similarity of the objects. Transformations include translation (moving), rotation, and reflection. They will learn which transformations they need to perform, and in which order (or if the order even matters). Studying transformations, congruence, and similarity will improve my students' spacial thinking, and will be used as a basis for studying and graphing linear equations later in their 8th grade year.
