In order to help my students become productive learners, it is imperative for me to provide them with flexible seating. The learning environment is as equally important as the learning experiences in the classroom. Most of my students are visual and tactile-kinesthetic learners and would benefit greatly from comfortable furniture that is not the standard desk chair. "When the body is in distress, the brain stem focuses on the discomfort and no learning takes place," Susan Winebrenner. In order to provide my students with the comfortable environment they desire, I need to allow them to have access to Hokki stools, wobble chairs and balance balls. The students who need to be able to bounce around or fidget while learning would benefit greatly from these seats. These seats would be offered to my students and would provide them with the comfort they would need in order to learn effectively.
