By having access to their own personal novel, Lord of the Flies, my students will be able to annotate and dig deeper into the theme of suspense at school and at home. Reading their own novel will also help them when they write their own suspenseful narrative in class. Lord of the Flies will reinforce many of the skills they are learning as they create their own masterpiece! The author will provide them with examples of the elements of suspense, that they can discuss in their Literature Circles. After collaborating in class, I am confident that they will create narratives like never before.
