Our club is entitled GEMS (girls-engineering-math-science) After-School Enrichment Program. The mission is for girls to increase their knowledge in science, technology, engineering and math through the GEMS after-school educational program using hands-on, engaging activities while becoming skilled using the robot ball called “sphero”. Sphero is an app-controlled robotic ball. Play is a powerful tool and by fusing technology with robotics, it will be inspiring tomorrow's female inventors and innovators. Programming isn't easy, but with the right tools give to children, a strong foundation can be established. Students will work in small groups to write computer programs that control how the Sphero ball rolls and appears. These sessions in programming will sharpen their skills in math, computer science and engineering. Your generous donations will help diversify the ways that students experience STEM learning. By offering innovative hands-on and project-based learning, STEM fields and career interest can come alive for our girls.
