My students are in an inner-city school district working hard to complete third grade and eventually graduate high school and college. The elementary school has a diverse mix of students. Students have a better understanding of all kinds of people because they see the uniqueness of everyone. I feel very privileged to get to work with this diverse group of students. In my class about 25% speak another language beside English at home. Our school has about 70% of students receiving free or reduced lunch. That means most students are not as privileged as others; they really need support in school. They are so bright if we can help them reach their highest potential.
