My kindergartners are young and eager learners. Most of my students are economically disadvantaged and, unfortunately, are not exposed to real life experiences on a regular basis other than at school. Poverty is our school's biggest challenge with language being a close second. We welcome and embrace culture and do our very best to reach out and communicate with parents. Teamwork is key in promoting a positive culture within our school. STEM builds conversation between our students and pushes them to work and plan together, make mistakes together, and resolve situations together. We encourage our families to get involved in STEM activities, as well, by inviting them into the classrooms to work on projects or by hosting an evening based on STEM Wars. I want to offer my students the opportunity to begin this journey as early as possible so they can grow with it throughout their entire learning journey.
