My students need eight Ozobot Starter Pack, Programmable Dash Robots to assist me in introducing them to the 21st Century Skill of Coding.The skills that my 3rd-5th graders will gain from programming our Ozobot robots will be extremely valuable in a technology-driven world. My students will learn the basics of coding and will be applying their knowledge of coding in collaborative groups to create scenarios using not only the supplied tasks included with the Ozbots but also the excitement of creating their own challenges for the robots. The curriculum for Ozbots are included and detailed lesson plans are supplied. Many of my students have some coding experience but the Ozobots will provide students the hands-on learning they need to "see" the coding happen in real-time right in front of them Working well with others and problem solving skills are needed in today's workforce. My students will be working in groups of four with their table partners to complete the challenges that I give them. Early exposure to robotics and coding will hopefully encourage students on a career path towards computer programming, engineering or robotic technology.
